Day 08- Animais/ Animals!!!

Today we woke up at 5:30 to see the sunrise. After breakfast we went out to a small farm where they showed us how to make tapioca. When we had been there for about an hour we went back to the boat and sailed toward at small village. Before going there we had a quick lunch, and then we were went swinging with the local kids. After coming back to the boat and relaxing for a couple of hours we went out fishing for piranhas, although there weren't many to be caught. After a bit of fishing we sailed on and found a sloth, as well as a few baby alligators. After a nice and relaxing day, with a ton a photos and fun we sailed back to the big boat for a nice dinner.

Hoje, nos acordamos às 5:30 para ver o nascer do sol. depois de um pequeno almoço nos fomos para uma fazenda onde eles nos mostramos como fazer a tapioca. Depois de uma hora lá nos fomos de novo para o barco e nos fomos para uma pequena cidade. antes de ir lá tivemos um almoço rápido, e em seguindo nos fomos nadar com as crianças dessa cidade. depois nos voltamos de novo para o barco para descansar antes de ir pescar piranhas, não tinha como pescar muito. depois de um pouco de pesca nos navegamos e encontramos um bicho preguiça, e também alguns bebês jacarés. depois de um agradável e relaxante dia, com uma tonelada de fotos e passeios divertidos nos fomos de novo para ao grande barco para comer jantar.

Day 07- sobrevivência/ Survival!

Hoje nós começamos nosso dia com um café da manhã grande para começar nosso Dia de Sobrevivência. Nós à seguir fomos para nossa aventura por volta de 8:30 chegamos na selva. Começamos o primeiro passo para o nosso Dia de Sobrevivência com a aprendizagem de como construir um fogo com uma bateria do telefone e itens da árvore, as faíscas da faca, a casca da arma. Aprendemos como tomar a água de parte de uma árvore e limpar água para beber e usar partes da árvore para fazer chá. O próximo passo foi usar as plantas para construir abrigo para proteção. Então, fomos l aprender a caçar os animais. No próximo passo da Sobrevivência fomos para uma área onde provamos frutas diferentes e comemos minhocas. Esta parte foi tão interessante para experimentar muitas frutas da Amazônia. E nosso passo final foi nós caminhando através da água que foi até o meu pescoço. Quando chegamos ao final da trilha os guias tinham preparado peixe e frutas para nós para comer para o almoço. Nós começamos nossa viagem nos barcos de volta aos barcos maiores onde nós dormimos. Logo antes do nosso barco, conseguimos pular na água por um tempo. Foi tão refrescante após o nosso dia na selva. Quando voltamos para o nosso barco que tinham preparado pipoca e biscoitos para nós, então nós comemos e aguardamos pela hora do jantar. Depois nós jantamos e ficamos nos divertindo no barco.

Today we started our day with a big breakfast to begin our Survival Day. We left for our adventure at 8:30 and arrived at the Jungle. We began the first step to our Survival Day with learning how to build a fire with a battery from the phone and items from the tree, the sparks from the knife, the shell from the gun. We learned how to preserve water from part of a tree and make clean to drink and to use parts from tree to make tea. The next step was using the plants to build shelter for protection. We then went to learn how to hunt the animals. The next step for Survival Day we went to an area where we tried different fruits and eat worms. This part was so interesting to try many fruits of the Amazon. And our final step was us walking through water which was up too my neck. When we got to the end of the trail the guides had prepared fish and fruit for us to eat for lunch. We began our journey in the boats back to the larger boats where we sleep. Right before our boat we got to jump into the water for a while. It was so refreshing after our day in the jungle. When we got back to our boat they had prepared popcorn and cookies for us so we ate some and hung out before dinner. We enjoyed our dinner and hung out on the boat for the rest of the night.

Day 06- encontro das águas!

Enfim chegou o dia de irmos para o barco, é a hora que todo mundo tava esperando! Acordamos cedo para tomar café e fazer check out, depois disso nós fomos para o pier do hotel para encontrar nosso novo lar! Lá tivemos instruções sobre o barco e começamos a navegar para o encontro das águas, é lindo!

Depois fomos ver o lago onde tem muitas vitórias régias que tem uma lenda muito legal sobre uma índia que amava a lua e depois almoçamos no barco! De tarde fomos na aldeia dos Tukanos e conhecemos algumas danças típicas da tribo! Foi emocionante e todo mundo amou o dia!

Finally the day arrived to go to the boat, is the time that everyone was waiting! We woke up early to have coffee and check out, after that we went to the hotel pier to find our new home! There we had instructions on the boat and we started to navigate to the meeting of the waters, it is beautiful!
Then we went to see the lake where there are many vitórias régias that has a very cool legend about an Indian who loved the moon and then we had lunch on the boat! In the afternoon we went to the village of the Tukanos and we met some typical dances of the tribe! It was exciting and everyone loved the day!

Day 05 - Manaus

Hoje foi um dia muito bom pois não tivemos que acordar tão cedo! O café da manhã do hotel é muito bom e ficamos muito tempo comendo. Depois saímos para o Mercado Municipal onde todo mundo comprou muitas coisas. E depois fomos almoçar em um shopping e muita gente ficou feliz porque tinha uma promoção da Nike e tudo estava muito barato! De tarde tivemos tempo livre no hotel e de noite tivemos o jantar típico e o show do Boi Bumbá! Muito legal!

Today was a very good day because we did not have to wake up so soon! The hotel breakfast is very good and we spent a lot of time eating. Then we went out to the Municipal Market where everyone bought many things. And then we went to lunch at a mall and a lot of people were happy because they had a Nike sale and everything was very cheap! In the afternoon we had free time at the hotel and at night we had a typical dinner and a show from Boi Bumbá! Very cool!

Day 04 - CIGS / INPA

Today we left the hotel to go to the city of Manaus; in the morning we visited a zoo, it was really cool because we saw a lot of animals, typical of Amazon (araras, monkeys...). Then we went to have lunch in a restaurant that made a delicious fish. Then some of us ate a really spicy pepper and Bo "almost died"...
Afterwards we have been in a supermarket to buy food that we can eat in the boat.
Then we went to a natural park that also has a lot of typical animals of Amazon. We saw some turtles and alligators, and it was nice to walk inside of this really pretty place.
After that we went to the Tropical Hotel where we were going to spend two nights. There we had a lot of free time to enjoy the huge pool or all the others equipments of that hotel.
After that we ordered some food, pizzas and sushi for most of us, and we ate a cake for Riley's birthday. Then we went to sleep.

Hoje nós deixamos o hotel para ir para a cidade de Manaus; de manhã visitamos um zoológico, foi muito legal porque vimos um monte de animais típicos da Amazônia (araras, macacos ...). Então nós fomos almoçar em um restaurante que fez peixes deliciosos. Então, alguns de nós comemos uma pimenta muito picante e o Bo "quase morreu"...
Depois fomos em um supermercado para comprar comida para podermos comer no barco.
Fomos a um parque natural que também tem um monte de animais típicos da Amazônia. Vimos algumas tartarugas e jacarés, e foi bem legal; passeamos a pé por dentro deste realmente belo local.
Depois fomos ao Tropical Hotel em que vamos passar duas noites. Lá, tivemos bastante tempo livre para aproveitar a enorme piscina ou todos os outros equipamentos deste hotel.
Depois, pedimos alguns alimentos, pizzas e sushis para a maioria de nós; comemos um bolo também para o aniversário do Riley. Fomos dormir em seguida.

Day 03 - Caverna do Maroaga / Cachoeira do Santuário

A gente acordou e foi tomar café de manhã bem cedo para depois sair de ônibus para começar o passeio.

Fizemos grupos para ir na floresta e passear nas cavernas e cachoeiras. Tomamos banho de cachoeira e tiramos fotos. Depois disso a gente foi no centro de Presidente Figueiredo para almoçar e comprar o que nós precisaríamos. Estava chovendo um monte, mas depois de pouco tempo a chuva parou. Logo depois disso a gente subiu no ônibus para conhecer a última cachoeira. Quando chegamos no parque tinha um mirante com vista para a cachoeira, onde todo mundo tirou fotos. A gente pulou na água com as bandeiras e entrou na cachoeira (literalmente na cachoeira). Já no final todo mundo foi na ponte para tirar uma foto com as bandeiras, mas não deu certo; na hora de todos nós estarmos ali, de repente a madeira da ponte fez um barulho e todos nós saímos correndo. Tiramos a foto na cachoeira e pegamos nossas coisas para voltar para o hotel. Voltamos e tivemos um jantar só para nós e reunião para dar informações do dia de amanhã.

We woke up and went to breakfast early in the morning and then left the bus to start the tour.

We made groups to go in the forest and in the caves and waterfalls. We took a waterfall shower and took photos. After that we went to the center of Presidente Figueiredo to have lunch and buy what we would need. It was raining a lot, but after a while the rain stopped. Soon after that we got on the bus to meet the last waterfall. When we arrived at the park that had a gazebo overlooking the waterfall, where everyone took photos. We jumped in the water with the flags and went into the waterfall (literally at the waterfall). In the end everyone went to the bridge to take a picture with the flags, but it did not work; by the time we were all there, suddenly the wood of the bridge made a noise and we all ran. We took the photo in the waterfall and we got our stuff back to the hotel. We came back and had dinner just for us and meeting to give information of tomorrow.

Day 02 - Balbina

Today we had the presentation of the trip and in the afternoon we have been to "Projeto de Quelônios" which is a reserve made for the animals which are not able to live alone by themselves, specially made for the manatees; there we assisted movies and we visited the reserve. After that we went to the lagoon of balbina to swim.

After that we came back to the hotel and we have been at the swimming pool; we had a nice dinner and an awesome typical dancing show and they teached us how to dance and after that we had the meeting to present ourselves and get the T-shirt of the trip.

Hoje nós tivemos a apresentação da viagem e de tarde fomos para uma reserva criada para ajudar os animais que não podem sobreviver sozinhos; lá tem especialmente o peixe boi; nós assistimos dois filmes sobre o trabalho das pessoas da reserva e depois fomos visitar um pouquinho a reserva. Depois disso fomos para a lagoa de Balbina para nadar um pouquinho.

Depois voltamos para o hotel fomos na piscina; após uma grande janta, tivemos uma apresentação de danças típicas da Amazônia, e depois nos dançamos. Para o fim tivemos uma reunião para nos apresentarmos e ganhar a camiseta da viagem.

Day 01 - Presidente Figueiredo

Hoje nós chegamos ao aeroporto e encontramos todos os intercambistas e o pessoal do Terra Brasil.
Daí, fomos de ônibus de Manaus até Presidente Figuereido. A gente jantou pizza e hamburger em um restaurante e continuamos a viagem até o hotel. Chegamos umas oito horas no hotel e tivemos tempo livre até meia noite.

Today we arrived at the airport and we met with all the exchange students and the people from Terra Brasil. From there, we went in a bus from Manaus to Presidente Figuereido. For dinner we had pizza and hamburgers in a little restaurant. And from there we continued the trip to the hotel. We got to the hotel around eight o'clock and we had free time until midnight.
